John H. Thomas, J.D.
After 30 years in practice as a maritime and commercial practice lawyer in Miami, Florida, John Thomas joined the faculty at Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management in 2006. He is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in Admiralty and Maritime Law and is the author of the chapter on Marine Salvage in Maritime Law and Practice. He is the author of multiple articles about cruise ships, doing business in Cuba, technology and robotics in hospitality and is co-author of a book chapter on legal issues for the Internet of Things in hospitality. He teaches courses in hospitality law, travel law, cruise line management and legal issues for the Internet of Things and is a conference lecturer on such topics.
