Admiralty and maritime law has been a major part of Ms. Miller's practice since she was admitted to the bar in 1980. Ms. Miller has extensive experience in representing vessel owners, stevedores, towers, underwriters, ship's agents and freight forwarders in personal injury, cargo, limitation of liability, towage, collision and allision cases, vessel financing, maritime liens and maritime commercial disputes. Ms. Miller's trial practice also includes the defense of medical care malpractice, professional liability and commercial cases. Ms. Miller practices in the federal and state trial courts, the Alabama Supreme Court, the Fifth and Eleventh Circuit United States Courts of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Miller also represents insurers and corporate clients in insurance coverage disputes involving various types of both maritime and non maritime policies, including hull & P&I, stevedore's legal liability, longshore coverages, maritime employer's liability, cargo liabilities, commercial general liability, directors and officers liability, property and excess coverages. Ms. Miller presently serves as Chancellor for Alabama for the Episcopal Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast and as Honorary Consul for the Kingdom of Norway in Alabama.
