Ms. Milgrim received her Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University in 1985 and her Juris Doctor degree, from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1988. She began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Kings County, New York, and spent more than 3 years working in both the trial and appellate divisions of that office. In September 1991, she left the public sector and began work at the New York law firm of Kirlin Campbell & Keating during which time she handled the defense of all types of maritime personal injury cases. In May 1998, she left private practice and began work for the P&I Club SKULD and she is Vice President of SKULD North America Inc. She is involved in handling various types of maritime personal injury matters, including passenger, crew and longshore claims throughout North America, on behalf of SKULD and its members.

She is a Proctor Member of the Maritime Law Association and was formerly the Chair of the Cruise Lines and Passenger Ships Committee. She is also a member of the Maritime Torts and Casualty Committee of the Maritime Law Association and also serves as an Editorial Fellow of American Maritime Cases. She has lectured at numerous conferences on the subject of US personal injury litigation.
